Hardly a breath after Slash got done telling us he is the last of the great rock guitarists and everybody else sucks (except Jack White), he's also gone and fired the Nazi uniform wearing douchebag Scott Weiland from Velvet Revolver. Slash sited Weiland's lack of commitment and "increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems" as reasons for the dismissal. The personal problems he's referring to are basically the abuse of heroine and booze and beating up women and being arrested fo

CBS-owned TV stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago are reducing their news staffs. The cuts include two well-known anchors in Los Angeles, five on-air veterans in San Francisco and one of Chicago's highest-paid anchors.

Remember when every food chain was super-sizing? Well hold that trend for a moment. The Washington Post reports that the fast-food chain Au Bon Pain is now offering 14-small portion meals. The menu includes mini-meals such as Thai peanut chicken, Hummus with cucumbers, and brie with fruit and crackers.

Following the news two weeks ago that a US Airways pilot accidentally discharged his gun during a flight to Charlotte, USA Today reports that approximately 9,500 commercial pilots are taking to the sky with firearms.
