Krakauer Withdraws Tillman Book

Jon Krakauer withdrew his upcoming book on Pat Tillman, according to a recent report on Publisher's Weekly. Rachel deahl reported on the Publisher's Weekly web site that, "Krakauer is apparently unhappy with the manuscript and is holding onto it indefinitely. David Drake at Doubleday confirmed that the decision was entirely the author's and that, while the imprint is "disappointed," it supports its author. The latest quarterly bulletin from the Michigan League for Human Services tells us that despite having the third best unemployment rate in the state at 5.6 percent that my own Isabella County had the largest jump in the number of food assistance caseloads, at nearly 24 percent. If you've never had the pleasure of witnessing the insanity that is the Fancy Food Show, picture the Javits Center in Manhattan filled hundreds upon hundreds of food vendors, all giving out what seems like an endless array of samples. It's a chance for industry types to see the latest food-product trends and try food from all over the world.
